On and around St Kilda you can be sure to see a magnificent display of wildlife, St Kilda is home to the worlds largest Gannet colony (usually sighted April to October), The largest colony of Fulmars in Great Britain and Ireland, Britain’s largest puffin colony (usually April to early August), Guillemots & Petrel.
On St Kilda, several creatures can be found which are unique to St Kilda: Soay Sheep, Boreray Sheep, St Kilda Wren, St Kilda mouse (difficult to find in day time)
On the boat trip sometimes we don’t see any wildlife. More often we would see something from this range of possibilities: Seals, Dolphins, Basking sharks, Minke whales, Orca (killer) whales
Our best ever sighting was spending 15 minutes or so surrounded by 13 Orca whales which was an awesome experience!
