Our trips all depart from the town of Uig on North West Skye (unless agreed otherwise in advance).

The meeting point for trips departing is on the main pier in Uig, at the top of the steps on the left hand side, opposite the Caledonian Macbrayne ferry car loading ramp. The meeting point is normally marked by a fence mounted "Go to St Kilda meeting point" sign.

Footwear suitable for walking on the island where ground can be uneven, steep, soft and wet underfoot. Warm waterproof clothing (jacket, trousers and footwear) for use on the island and also to wear on board the boat to enjoy views from the rear deck during the journey, which may be wet from sea spray.
Food and drink
Passengers require to bring their own food and drink as there are no catering facilities on the island. The exception is for the catered camping trips where food is provided.
There is a toilet on board the boat in which you will travel. On St Kilda, National Trust for Scotland provide toilets for use by visitors.
We indicate that a requirement for travellers is a reasonable level of agility. This is principally for boarding and alighting from the boat. Although we have minimal instances of sea sickness, we strongly encourage customers to take steps to minimise the risk by using sea-bands/ travel bands (£8 from Boots/ £6 from Amazon), Kwells, or some other form of motion nausea deterrent. Some customers speak highly of Scopoderm travel sickness patches - available over the counter without prescription at pharmacies including Boots Portree - approx £9.
Luggage and Equipment
Luggage and equipment will be carried in a dry locker space and requires to fit through the locker access doorway sized 540mm x 820mm.
National Trust for Scotland operate a small shop which is located close to the pier. It is stocked with souvenirs and St Kilda publications. The warden normally opens the shop for a period during our visit. The shop does not sell any food or beverages. Payment by cash or card.
Pets are strictly prohibited on St Kilda. If you require kennels to look after your dog. There are kennels at Portree which our customers have used and been happy with. Portree is 20/ 30 mins drive from our departure point of Uig. Karen Augier of Portree Kennels can be contacted at:-

If staying overnight, you are responsible for providing your own camping equipment, and any cooking equipment. If you prefer an arrangement where we provide all the camping equipment, we have 2 camping equipment rental options for you to consider. Our rental is for minimum 2 nights. To order either option email us once you have placed your booking.
Our new for 2017 camping kit for 2 persons. The equipment list is attached. £40/ night x 2 nights = £80 for min 2 nights.
The photo below shows equipment available to rent for 2 - 4 persons, which we set up for you. All you require to take is your food (unless catered). Cost - £30pp per night (including VAT). Minimum 2 nights. Minimum 2 persons.
Terms and conditions
In the event of the weather being unsuitable in the interests of comfort and safety, or the minimum number of bookings not being reached, the trip will be cancelled. In such events, passengers will be informed with as much notice as possible and where possible will be offered an alternative date. If not suitable for the passenger, there will be a refund of the price paid, subject to deduction of a 2.5% admin charge. In the most unlikely event of the trip reaching St Kilda but being unable to land due to weather, a 30% refund will be made. In event of the passenger cancelling there will be no refund of monies already paid, unless the seat can be re-sold, in which case there will be a commensurate refund. We do not store credit card details, nor do we share customer details with any 3rd parties.
